Blu Ray Ripper by AVCWare

I have already reviewed AVCWare blu ray ripper before but recently the software improved so much that another updated review is in order. And I am really impressed with how much this blu-ray ripper has improved. This post is a quick review of some of the main features and improvements of this software.

AVCWare blu ray ripper is a ripper, converter and video editor all in one. Making it one of the cheapest and best blu ray ripper on the market. With this software you can copy blu ray movies to your hard drive, rip blu ray movies, convert the blu ray m2ts file to various formats and also edit the ripped file. The video editor used in this software is pretty impressive. Using the built in video editor you can edit your ripped blu ray files by clipping, cropping, editing frame effect, adjust subtitles, adding watermarks and much more to fully customize your videos.

Note: AVCWare Blu Ray Ripper requires AnyDVD to operate. Without AnyDVD this software will not work. If you want a complete blu-ray ripper which does not require any additional software and works on its own out of the box then I recommend you check out my review on pavtube blu-ray ripper.

The main attraction in this software is the huge amount of output formats it provides, with all these pre-set options you may never have to use the custom settings since every known device is available on the list and for those unknown brands you can use the advanced output settings to manually set all the parameters. Another interesting thing I noticed in this software is that among many other formats it also provides output to the xbox360, the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS, so if you have an xbox 360 or a Wii/DS and would like to watch blu ray movies on that device then all you have to do is select xbox 360/Wii/DS from the output options and you now have a blu ray movie for your device.


The built in converter can convert the blu ray file to almost every other format such as: H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, MPEG2 HD, MPEG-4 TS HD, MPEG-2 TS HD, Quick Time HD, WMV HD, AVI HD, AVI, MPEG, WMV, MP4, FLV, H.264/MPEG-4, DivX, XviD, MOV, RMVB, ASF, 3GP, 3G2, SWF, VOB, TS, DV and much more. As can be seen from the screen shots above the included video editor is pretty amazing, it can do almost anything any other video converter can. The converter provides "clipping" support, with this you can eitehr clip out trailers, advertisements, boring and unwanted scenes from your ripped movie or clip out the best scenes from the movie and then merge them together with the merge option. Using the merge option you can combine many clipped scenes into one continuous file, you can even merge two movies together for an uninterrupted watching experience. If you are short on memory you can even specify the output file size with the built in bit-rate calculator to easily fit an entire blu ray movie onto your multimedia or handheld device. The editor also provides other fun options such as video effects, cropping and adding a text or image watermark.

Blu Ray Ripper by Pavtube

Pavtube Blu Ray Ripper is another Blu Ray Ripper that can rip blu ray discs only. Having said that this is a one fine coded software. It is a Ripper, Converter and Editor all in one or to be more specific Pavtube Blu Ray Ripper is an excellent ripper and converter, it can be used as Blu-ray DVD Ripper, Blu-ray Backup, DVD Backup, Blu-ray Editor, DVD Editor, Video Converter and Video Editor. Similar to the other rippers reviewed here it can convert the blu ray .m2ts file format to any other video format however i could not help but notice that the output options in this ripper are a lot more when compared to the other blu ray rippers.

         
As mentioned above Pavtube Ripper can support a huge selection of output options as can be seen from the screen shot below.

As can be seen from the screen shot that pavtube blu ray ripper can convert the video into popular audio and video formats like AVI, ASF, MPEG, MP4, WMV, MKV, MOV, FLV, SWF, RM, 3GP, AAC, AC3, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA, M4A, etc to playback on your beloved portable players such as iPod, iPhone, Apple TV, Zune, Blackberry, PSP, Creative Zen, Xbox, etc. Other than the large selection of preset output formats you can also set the output to custom settings and go into the advanced mode to set all of the parameters yourself.

Another feature of this software is that it will allow you to rip and store even protected blu ray discs and dvds. The editor section of the software allows you the "split by scene" option, using that you can rip only the scene you want and not the entire movie. This is very handy when you need a single part of the movie on your portable device and not the entire movie. Similarly you can merge the small parts into a single continuous movie for uninterrupted playback. Along with the usual merge and split options you can also use the crop option, an option that does not exist in the other blu ray ripper reviewed here. Also the Ultimate version has a way superior video editor. Using that you can, along with other ripper options (such as trimming, cropping, adding watermark, choosing special effects), replace the audio of a video with an audio file of your own.

The software editor also allows to add your own watermark/text watermark to the ripped videos giving a more personalized touch.

All in all this is a wonderful software and considering the options provided it is one of the cheapest blu ray ripper I have reviewed here and I highly recommend you try it out. It is also available as a free trial.

Blu Ray DVD Ripper by AVCWare is a Blu Ray DVD ripper only - it cannot rip conventional DVD like the other softwares I reviewed here. Other than that it can rip Blu Ray files without any problem. It also provides a file conversion from the Blu Ray DVD M2TS file so that you can watch your favorite movies or videos on the go.



Once the movie is ripped, you can edit your blu-ray M2TS videos by clipping, cropping, editing frame effect, adjust subtitles, adding watermarks and much more to fully customize your videos.

TOP Blu-Ray ripper is capable of ripping blu-ray dvd's along with conventional HD DVD's. Once ripped the software can save the video in a number of video formats. As can be seen from the screenshot below there is no dearth of output options in this software


TOP Blu-Ray Ripper also supports the popular "split by scene" option. Ripping an entire DVD can be very tiresome especially if you are planning to cut out only your favorite part from the movie.
